House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has called for David Weiss and seven other officials from the Biden-Harris Department of Justice (DOJ) to participate in transcribed interviews. These requests aim to investigate alleged misconduct and weaponization within the DOJ during the previous administration.
The committee, during the 118th Congress, attempted to collaborate with the Biden-Harris Administration's DOJ for oversight purposes. However, according to Jordan, the DOJ imposed "unilateral and severe scope limitations" on their investigations and instructed witnesses not to answer most questions. The committee is hopeful that all requested individuals will cooperate with this inquiry.
The officials summoned include J.P. Cooney, Mack Jenkins, Thomas P. Windom, Tina Ansari, Negar Tekeei, Sanjay Patel, and Anita Eve.
