Gang leader Kevin Perez convicted for violent crimes

Kevin Perez, also known as "Kay Flock," has been convicted for his involvement in a series of gang-related shootings as the leader of the Sev Side / DOA street gang. Acting U.S. Attorney Matthew Podolsky announced the conviction, emphasizing that Perez's actions instilled fear in the community through both violence and his drill rap lyrics, which threatened rivals and taunted victims.

Podolsky stated, "Kevin Perez, a/k/a 'Kay Flock,' was the leader of a neighborhood street gang known as Sev Side / DOA, and with that gang, he committed a series of gang-motivated shootings." He further noted that despite using his music to hide behind his crimes, Perez will now be held accountable due to the efforts of prosecutors and law enforcement partners.

The statement concluded with Podolsky affirming the commitment of his office to continue prosecuting gang members who contribute to violence on city streets: "This Office remains resolute in its commitment to prosecuting gang members who sow fear and spread violence on our city streets."
