A Davenport man, Demarcus Letrelle Culberson Jr., has been sentenced to 121 months in federal prison for firearm and marijuana-related charges. The sentencing follows his conviction for possessing a firearm as a felon and holding a distribution quantity of marijuana.
Court documents and evidence presented at the sentencing revealed that Culberson, aged 22, had marijuana both in his vehicle and at his home. Additionally, law enforcement discovered a loaded firearm at his residence. A shell casing found at an October 2023 shooting scene was linked to the firearm located in Culberson's home. As a felon, he was prohibited from owning firearms.
Upon completing his prison sentence, Culberson will undergo three years of supervised release. It is important to note that there is no parole option within the federal system.
The announcement of this sentencing was made by United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal of the Southern District of Iowa. The investigation was conducted by the Davenport Police Department.
