Innovative Housing Showcase returns amid US independence celebrations

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced the return of its Innovative Housing Showcase, set to take place from May 30 to June 1 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This year's event will commemorate significant events in housing history and celebrate the American Dream of homeownership, as part of President Trump's Executive Order marking America's 250th Birthday.

The Salute to America 250 Task Force, established by this Executive Order, will oversee a series of celebrations starting on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025, leading up to July 4, 2026.

The annual public event aims to raise awareness about innovative and affordable housing designs and technologies that can potentially increase housing supply and reduce construction barriers. It will feature interactive exhibits with full-sized prototype homes and new building technologies.

Secretary Scott Turner expressed enthusiasm for the showcase's return: "I am thrilled to welcome back the Innovative Housing Showcase to the National Mall as we commemorate 250 years of American independence. During this special celebration we will remember through the decades, the American Dream of homeownership ties generations together and is a core part of our nation’s excellence," he said. "In accordance with President Trump’s inspirational vision for Salute to America 250, HUD is proud to highlight housing solutions that honor our past while building a strong, bright future for American homeownership."

Visitors will have opportunities to attend expert-led discussions, workshops, and live demonstrations focusing on key moments in housing history as well as future affordability and resilience. The event is open to families and is expected to draw over 5,000 attendees including policymakers, industry representatives, media personnel, and members of the public.

HUD is currently seeking exhibitors for this showcase. Further details about participation requirements are available online. Finalized exhibitor lists and programming details will be announced soon.
