A Camden County resident has admitted to distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney John Giordano.
Joseph Watson, 38, from Sicklerville, New Jersey, pleaded guilty in a federal court in Camden. He faced charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute both methamphetamine and fentanyl. These charges are violations of various sections under Title 21 of the United States Code.
Court documents reveal that between June 2023 and October 2023, Watson conspired with Ian Dudley and others to distribute these substances across Camden County, Gloucester County, and other parts of southern New Jersey. During this period, Watson sold approximately 927 grams of crystal methamphetamine and about 28 grams of fentanyl to an undercover federal agent.
Each charge related to the distribution carries a maximum penalty of up to 20 years in prison along with a potential fine of $1 million. Sentencing for Watson is set for July 29, 2025.
The investigation was credited by U.S. Attorney Giordano to special agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives led by L.C. Cheeks Jr.
Ian Dudley, identified as a co-defendant in this case, is awaiting trial. He remains presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph McFarlane represents the government in this matter while Stanley King from Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins serves as defense counsel for Watson.
