A Memphis man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for fentanyl distribution and firearms offenses. Reagan Fondren, Acting United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, announced the sentencing of Adrian Seymour, aged 38.
In the summer of 2023, agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) learned that Seymour was distributing significant quantities of fentanyl in Memphis. On August 15, 2023, undercover ATF agents bought approximately 1,000 fentanyl pills from him for $5,000. Later on September 19, they purchased two firearms and about one hundred fentanyl pills for $1,000.
Seymour was arrested by ATF special agents and charged on October 5, 2023. He faced a seven-count indictment by a federal grand jury on November 14, 2023.
On August 13, 2024, Seymour pleaded guilty to possessing with intent to distribute over forty grams of fentanyl and carrying a firearm related to drug trafficking. On March 19, 2025, Senior United States District Court Judge John T. Fowlkes sentenced him to serve a term of incarceration followed by four years of supervised release.
The case was investigated by the ATF's Memphis Field Office and the Shelby County Multi-Agency Gang Unit with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Nashville laboratory.
Jason Stankiewicz, Acting Special Agent in Charge at the ATF Nashville Field Division stated: “The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) is committed to protecting our communities from gun violence... The work done in this case exemplifies ATF’s mission to protect the public...”
Acting U.S. Attorney Fondren expressed gratitude towards Assistant United States Attorney Bryce H. Phillips for prosecuting the case and acknowledged law enforcement partners involved in the investigation.
