Rubio meets with Trinidad and Tobago's Prime Minister to discuss regional security

Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Stuart Young in Kingston, Jamaica. The meeting was confirmed by Spokesperson Tammy Bruce.

During the meeting, Secretary Rubio expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Young for Trinidad and Tobago's cooperation in promoting energy security, enhancing their security partnership, and improving coordination on deportation matters.

The two leaders also discussed the Trump Administration's decision to designate the Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua, as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO). Secretary Rubio encouraged Prime Minister Young to join the United States and other Caribbean democracies in efforts to limit malign influence in the region.
