U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has apprehended Pierre Maurice Al-Asmar, a Lebanese national, in Lakeville, Massachusetts. Al-Asmar is facing charges of assault and battery, including indecent assault and battery against a person aged 14 or over. The arrest took place on January 25.
ICE's Boston acting Field Office Director, Patricia H. Hyde, stated, “Pierre Maurice Al-Asmar has not only shown a blatant disregard for U.S. immigration laws, but he has been charged with horrifically victimizing a Massachusetts resident. He represents a significant threat to the people of New England that ICE will not tolerate. We remain dedicated to our mission of prioritizing public safety by arresting and removing criminal aliens.”
Al-Asmar initially entered the United States lawfully but later violated the terms of his admission. He was arraigned on February 5, 2024, at the Lakeville District Court for the charges he faces.
Following his arrest, ICE has served Al-Asmar with a notice to appear before a Justice Department immigration judge. The public is encouraged to report crimes and suspicious activities involving immigration violations by calling 866-DHS-2-ICE or completing the online tip form.
