A resident of McAllen, Texas, has pled guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei. Narciso Dominguez III, 26, admitted to attempting to mail several kilograms of the narcotic.
The incident dates back to May 23, 2024, when authorities conducted surveillance of suspected stash house locations in McAllen. Dominguez was observed purchasing shipping supplies such as boxes and bubble wrap and was subsequently followed to one of these locations. After leaving, he proceeded to a local shipping establishment, where he submitted multiple packages intended for delivery to Dallas.
Upon examining the packages, officials discovered a total of 19 kilograms of cocaine. Dominguez acknowledged that he was aware the packages contained cocaine.
U.S. District Judge Drew B. Tipton is scheduled to impose sentencing on July 15. Dominguez could face a life sentence in federal prison and a fine of up to $10 million. He remains in custody until the sentencing.
The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jose A. Garcia prosecuted the case.
