Vincent Jerome May, a 37-year-old resident of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to multiple offenses, including robbery in Indian Country, interstate transportation of a stolen vehicle, and assault resulting in substantial bodily injury to a spouse, intimate partner, and dating partner. The announcement was made by the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The indictment against May specified that on March 4, 2023, he attempted to forcibly take items of value from a victim, knowingly transported a stolen vehicle from Oklahoma to Colorado, and assaulted an intimate partner, leading to serious injuries. These incidents took place in Okmulgee County, within the boundaries of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Reservation, which is in the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Okmulgee Police Department conducted the investigation leading to the charges against May.
May's guilty plea was accepted by U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Following this, the judge has ordered a presentence investigation report. Until sentencing, May will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael E. Robinson.
