The Bakery Group, based in Dallas, Texas, has announced a recall of 629 cases of Dense Brioche Pullman loaves, product code #654203, and 104 cases of 4.5-inch Brioche Hamburger Buns, product code #54500. These products may contain undeclared milk, soy, and Yellow FD&C #5. Individuals with allergies or sensitivities to soy, wheat, milk, or Yellow FD&C #5 may risk serious allergic reactions if they consume these items.
The affected products were distributed to Ben E. Keith in Fort Worth, Texas, and Rodeo Goat Casa Linda Store in Dallas, Texas. The labels on these items were incorrect, as they did not disclose the presence of milk, soy, wheat, and Yellow FD&C #5. Distribution of these products took place between December 24, 2024, and March 12, 2025.
Customers can identify the Dense Brioche Pullman loaves by the brown box with the Ben E. Keith label, denoting product code 654203. The Brioche Pullman Loaves sold to Rodeo Goat Casa Linda have a label indicating "Rodeo Goat Casa Linda Brioche Pullman Loaf." The loaves are sold in cases containing seven loaves, while the buns come in cases of 48.
The recalls follow a routine inspection by the State of Texas Health and Human Services, which found the label did not include a statement about these allergens. After investigating, The Bakery Group attributed the issue to a human error within their labeling and packaging department, a problem they claim has been rectified since March 19, 2025.
To date, no illnesses have been reported. Customers of Ben E. Keith Ft. Worth and Rodeo Goat Casa Linda who purchased the affected products with any remaining inventory should contact their distributor for re-labeling or a refund. Questions can be directed to The Bakery Group at 214-823-3943, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The company stated, "We greatly apologize for this error and any inconvenience this has caused our distributors and customers."
