Rodney Johnson, a 48-year-old resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 188 months in federal prison for leading a drug trafficking organization that distributed methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine in North Central West Virginia.
Court documents revealed that Johnson recruited individuals to distribute drugs in Morgantown, West Virginia, compensating them with a salary for the transportation and sale of these substances. He was responsible for supplying large quantities of illicit drugs.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley representing the government. The investigation was conducted by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative. The task force is composed of multiple law enforcement agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and several local police departments.
