A Laredo man has admitted to robbing Falcon International Bank, leading to a dangerous police pursuit. Adrian Hernandez, 42, entered the bank located at 212 Bob Bullock Loop in Laredo on June 10, 2024, and demanded money from a teller with a note stating, “this is a bank robbery, give me all the money,” as confirmed by U.S. Attorney Nicholas J. Ganjei.

Hernandez had what appeared to be a weapon wrapped in a gray shirt, prompting the teller to activate a silent alarm and give him money, including bait money, in a brown paper bag. Hernandez fled the scene by car.

Authorities later found a vehicle matching the description of Hernandez's at a motel. A high-speed chase ensued after Hernandez evaded a felony stop, ending when he crashed into a chain link fence near Salinas Avenue.

Upon arrest, Hernandez was wearing the same clothing captured in the bank's security footage. A significant amount of cash, along with a yellow note and blue marker, was discovered in his vehicle.

U.S. District Judge Marina Garcia Marmolejo will determine Hernandez's sentencing at a future date. He faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a possible $250,000 fine. Hernandez remains in custody awaiting sentencing.

The investigation was carried out by the FBI, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Mike Makens handling the prosecution.
