Federal jury convicts Webster woman over firearms possession

After a three-day trial, a federal jury found Michelle Stewart, 53, guilty of illegally possessing firearms. The prohibition stems from being a restricted individual. Acting United States Attorney Jay McCormack made the announcement.

Stewart was convicted on one count concerning the illegal possession of firearms. United States District Court Judge Joseph Laplante has set sentencing for July 11, 2025.

The case arose from events on April 27, 2023, when law enforcement executed a search warrant at Stewart's home in Webster, New Hampshire. During this operation, authorities discovered several firearms, including an AR-style rifle and an AK-style rifle.

Further investigation included the examination of cell phone contents. Among the items found was a photograph dated July 4, 2021. This image depicted Stewart in front of her home with an AR-style rifle. Additional pictures, dated March 20, 2022, showed her holding an AK-style rifle in her kitchen.

The United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives led the investigation. Supporting agencies included the Weare Police Department, the Webster Police Department, the Boscawen Police Department, and the New Hampshire State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Cesar Vega and Geoff Ward are handling prosecution duties.
