Three individuals from Minnesota have been indicted for conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and for firearm-related offenses, according to Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick.
The indictment involves La’veal O’Neal Allen, 38, Marquise Javon Walker, 28, and Michaela Karon McKinney, 37, who allegedly conspired to distribute fentanyl from April to September 2024. They are facing charges related to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and possessing a firearm in support of drug trafficking. Additionally, Allen is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, with a criminal record including prior felonies involving aggravated robbery and predatory offender registration violations. Due to these felonies, Allen is legally prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.
“Fentanyl continues to flood communities throughout Minnesota, and unfortunately, we see some of the highest rates of overdose and addiction on our Indian reservations,” stated Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa D. Kirkpatrick. She emphasized the impact on the Red Lake Indian Reservation and Bemidji area, stating that her office is committed to ensuring the defendants face federal justice.
The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael P. McBride prosecuting the case.
It is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
