Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, and Anish Shukla, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the New Haven Division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, announced charges against Onai Kedar Wilbur Wright, a 25-year-old resident of Bridgeport, for child exploitation offenses.

Wright's appearance in court took place before U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas O. Farrish in Hartford. Wright has been in custody following his arrest on related state charges on March 14, 2025.

According to the court documents and statements, an Online Covert Employee (OCE) from the FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force in Cleveland, Ohio, monitored a live stream on the "Fambase" internet application on March 14, observing Wright's involvement in sexually explicit activity with a 16-year-old girl. Investigations aided by mobile communication analysis, geo-location data, and AirBnB information, led authorities to a location in Norwich, Connecticut. Wright, the minor victim, and two adult women were present at the residence.

The criminal complaint against Wright lists charges of sexual exploitation of children, which has a 15 to 30-year imprisonment range, and transportation of a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, punishable by 10 years to life in prison.

Marc H. Silverman emphasized, "a complaint is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. Charges are only allegations, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt."

The investigation is managed by the FBI in New Haven and Cleveland, alongside the Norwich Police Department, the New London State’s Attorney’s Office, and police departments in Ohio—Vermilion and Norwalk. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Nancy V. Gifford. The assistance from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio was also recognized.

This prosecution is part of the U.S. Department of Justice's Project Safe Childhood initiative, which combats child sexual abuse and exploitation. Further information about the initiative is accessible at www.justice.gov/psc. Reports of child exploitation can be submitted to www.cybertipline.com.
