The Justice Department's Antitrust Division organized two roundtable discussions to engage with stakeholders about competition issues in the entertainment industry and unfair practices affecting the labor market. Hosted by Assistant Attorney General Gail Slater, the discussions aimed to provide insight into how these issues impact American workers.
The first discussion included members from Teamsters Local 25 and Local 804 and legal experts who shared personal experiences regarding non-compete agreements, no-poach agreements, and other harmful practices affecting livelihoods. Worker advocates and labor economists participated, offering strategies to protect workers.
The second roundtable focused on unfair practices in the live entertainment market. Participants included market representatives, advocates, and policymakers. Assistant Attorney General Slater facilitated the discussions to gather input from diverse perspectives on these issues.
"These discussions will help the Antitrust Division address competition issues in the entertainment industry," mentioned Slater.
"The roundtables provided valuable insights into the harmful labor market conduct affecting American workers," added Slater.
