U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced today improvements to its Applicant Portal, aiming to enhance the hiring experience for job seekers. This upgrade focuses on user-friendly features and efficient operations to simplify the application process.

The portal guides users through all phases of hiring, including pre-employment tasks and personnel action processing. Once an applicant receives a tentative job offer, they are provided with a unique link to the portal via email or text.

“CBP is dedicated to the continuous improvement of our hiring process, focusing on enhancing our technology to make it easier for all applicants to navigate the process,” said CBP’s Human Resources Management Assistant Commissioner Andrea Bright. “The recent enhancements allow applicants to receive text message alerts when a new task is added for them to complete or there is an update to their application status, making the process more convenient and efficient.”

CBP’s Office of Human Resources Management is integrating a data-focused, applicant-centric hiring model to deliver a top-tier applicant experience using innovative technology and advanced data analytics, alongside business process improvements.

Originally accessible only to Border Patrol Agents, CBP Officers, and Agriculture Specialists, the Applicant Portal is now open to all applicants to increase the hiring process's transparency.
