Buffalo man pleads guilty to drug trafficking charges

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that a Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to a narcotics conspiracy charge. Arquan Butler, known as Easy, entered the plea before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo. The charge carries a minimum of five years in prison and could lead to a maximum of 40 years and a fine of up to $5 million.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis A. Testani, who is managing the case, disclosed that from May 9 to July 5, 2023, Butler collaborated with his brother, Jahaun Butler, to sell fentanyl and crack cocaine. They completed sales of approximately 72 grams of fentanyl and two grams of crack cocaine to a law enforcement informant on ten occasions.

Jahaun Butler has already been convicted and sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role.

The investigation into the narcotics conspiracy involved the Drug Enforcement Administration, the New York State Police, and the Amherst Police Department, directed by Frank A. Tarentino III, Major Amie Feroleto, and Chief Scott Chamberlin, respectively.

Sentencing for Arquan Butler is scheduled for August 4, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. before Judge Vilardo.
