U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended a 16-year-old male in an effort to transfer firearms and knives through the Nogales, Arizona border barrier into Mexico on April 4. Surveillance technology deployed by Nogales Station agents identified the teenager approaching the barrier with a sizable duffel bag at approximately 1:45 a.m. Footage captured the youth attempting to maneuver the bag through the barrier before fleeing the scene.
Responding promptly, agents detained the suspect and seized the bag, which included an AR-style rifle, a pistol, two knives, and several ammunition magazines. The teenager, who is a local resident, was taken to the Nogales Border Patrol Station for additional procedures.
