U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reaffirmed its commitment to implementing and enforcing tariffs as prescribed by the President. CBP has already executed 13 tariff-related actions under the current administration, generating over $200 million daily in additional revenue.
The agency is coordinating closely with other government entities to realize the objectives of "Liberation Day" while ensuring compliance and uniform enforcement nationwide. CBP remains steadfast in enforcing laws and directives to safeguard the country's economic sovereignty. It is fully equipped to collect duties on goods subject to tariffs, including small packages.
Additional tariffs are now being collected under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962, effective from April 3, 2025. CBP is also collecting tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) following recent presidential actions.
CBP is the nation’s primary law enforcement organization tasked with border management. With a workforce exceeding 65,000, CBP secures America by land, air, and sea while facilitating lawful travel and trade. The agency is dedicated to enhancing national security through innovation, collaboration, and trust.
