U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has removed Nestor Adiel Salamanca, a 32-year-old Mexican national, back to Mexico after his conviction for lewd molestation of a child under 16. ICE officials turned Salamanca over to Mexican authorities on March 31.
Salamanca was found guilty in the District Court of Creek County Sapulpa, Oklahoma, on February 11. His sentence included 3.5 years in prison with 5 additional years suspended, as part of an agreement for self-deportation.
"This removal of this egregious child sexual offender demonstrates our commitment to ensuring criminal aliens will not roam the streets of our communities, preying on our most vulnerable citizens," stated Josh Johnson, the acting Director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Dallas Field Office. "Through collaboration with our law enforcement partners, we will ensure that sexual predators like this offender are promptly removed."
ICE officers had apprehended Salamanca on February 14, and an immigration judge ordered his removal on March 29.
