U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced on April 4, 2025, the results of operations targeting illegal aliens across Georgia. Federal agents have arrested approximately 1,500 illegal aliens since January 22, 2025, as part of this effort aimed at public safety and law enforcement.

The operations, conducted in collaboration with several federal agencies including the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and the United States Marshals Service, focused on addressing threats such as gangs, drug trafficking, and organized crime. Since March 24, agents have made over 150 arrests for criminal and civil immigration violations while seizing narcotics, firearms, and drug-related currency.

ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) led a labor trafficking operation during these efforts, resulting in the rescue of victims and several arrests. This operation represents ICE's ongoing effort to remove individuals posing threats to public safety in Georgia and across the United States.

Key actions highlighted in the operations included assisting the Cobb County Police Department in apprehending a Honduran national previously ordered removed by an immigration judge. Law enforcement agencies, including ICE, ATF, and DEA, also arrested four individuals, seizing firearms and currency. Another operation led to the arrest of 13 illegal aliens, seizing additional firearms and cash.

In Cartersville, Georgia, ICE, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, arrested the owner of a flooring company and a relative during a labor trafficking operation. More than 60 victims were rescued, alleged to have been forced into exploitative working conditions.

"HSI remains unwavering in its mission to protect the safety and security of our communities," said ICE HSI Atlanta Special Agent in Charge Steven N. Schrank. He emphasized the determination not to tolerate criminal activities irrespective of the individuals’ immigration status.

Among those arrested were individuals previously convicted of serious offenses such as assault and drug distribution. These arrests resulted from extensive coordination with various law enforcement agencies. ICE remains committed to dismantling human trafficking and smuggling networks and safeguarding national security and public safety.

The agency encourages the public to report any suspicious activity to the ICE Tip Line. For updates on HSI’s work, the public can follow their account on social media.
