Arlington man sentenced to two years for fentanyl trafficking

A man from Arlington has been sentenced to two years in prison for fentanyl trafficking, federal authorities announced. Cerone Davis, 31, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Denise J. Casper, to one year in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Davis admitted to possession with intent to distribute fentanyl in January 2025.

Davis was arrested on June 8, 2023, at the Mildred C. Hailey Apartments in Jamaica Plain. He was found with numerous individually packaged fentanyl bags. At the time, Davis was under supervised release related to a previous conviction for cocaine distribution and was barred from the area.

The arrest was announced by U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley, Special Agent in Charge James M. Ferguson of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and Boston Police Commissioner Michael Cox. Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah Hoefle prosecuted the case, supported by the Boston Housing Authority Police Department and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

This case is part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Strike Force Initiative. This initiative forms multi-agency teams that work together on operations targeting significant criminal activities, including drug trafficking and organized crime. More details about OCDETF can be found on the Department of Justice's website.
