Cheswick man sentenced to 20 years for child sexual abuse material receipt

A Cheswick, Pennsylvania resident has been sentenced to 20 years in federal prison for receiving child sexual abuse material. Cam John Zmenkowski, 28, received the sentence, which includes a subsequent 15 years of supervised release, from United States District Judge Marilyn J. Horan. The announcement was made by Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

The court learned that from August 2022 to September 2022, Zmenkowski obtained nude and sexually explicit images and videos from a minor. These materials were later retrieved by law enforcement from his personal cell phone.

Assistant United States Attorney Heidi M. Grogan represented the government in the prosecution of this case. Acting United States Attorney Rivetti highlighted the contributions of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Pittsburgh and the FBI Pittsburgh Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, along with the Allegheny County Police Department and Sharpsburg Police Department, in achieving a successful prosecution.

Zmenkowski's sentencing is a part of Project Safe Childhood, a federal initiative started in 2006 by the Department of Justice to address the issue of child sexual exploitation and abuse. This initiative involves federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders and help victims. More information can be found on their website at www.justice.gov/psc.
