Mexican citizen sentenced to prison for illegal re-entry into the U.S

Abraham Ulises Jimenez-Licona, a 38-year-old Mexican citizen, has pleaded guilty to the charge of re-entry of a removed alien. This plea was announced by U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo and took place under U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra, Jr. Following the guilty plea, Jimenez-Licona received a six-month prison sentence.

Prosecutors stated that Jimenez-Licona had been initially removed from the United States by an immigration judge in Batavia, New York, in May 2012. He was also removed again in 2021 following a violent assault. Despite these removals, he was found residing in the Town of Amherst, New York, on February 6, 2025.

The case was managed by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Andrew J. Henning and Sasha Mascarenhas. Homeland Security Investigations, directed by Special Agent-in-Charge Erin Keegan, alongside Customs and Border Protection, directed by Rose Brophy, conducted the investigation leading to the plea and sentencing.
