A Dunn County man has been sentenced to 12 years and 7 months in prison for drug trafficking offenses involving fentanyl and methamphetamine. Zachary Antoine Williams, also known as "Fendi," aged 23, was sentenced in New Bern, North Carolina, after pleading guilty last December to charges of possessing with the intent to distribute significant quantities of these substances.

Court documents revealed that Williams was stopped by law enforcement in Four Oaks, North Carolina, on September 18, 2023. A search of his vehicle uncovered digital scales and fentanyl powder, alongside other drug paraphernalia. Further investigations indicated that between September 2023 and January 2024, Williams was involved in five undercover methamphetamine and fentanyl sales. During this period, he was also reported to have sold approximately $1,500 worth of heroin weekly since January 2022. A home search in January 2024 resulted in the discovery of two loaded pistols, $3,445 in cash, and additional scales.

Williams has a previous felony conviction related to a robbery conspiracy involving a dangerous weapon.

The sentencing was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Daniel P. Bubar for the Eastern District of North Carolina, following a ruling by U.S. District Judge Louise W. Flanagan. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, along with the Dunn Police Department, conducted the investigation, while Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Aria Q. Merle handled the prosecution.
