Zaquikon T. Roy, a 35-year-old formerly from Brooklyn, New York, is facing new legal challenges as revealed in charges declared by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Vermont. On Wednesday, April 1, 2025, a grand jury in Rutland, Vermont, filed a Second Superseding Indictment against Roy. The Indictment lists 15 charges, including conspiracy to distribute various drugs like cocaine, cocaine base, and fentanyl, and conspiracy to possess and use firearms in drug trafficking. Additionally, Roy faces charges related to firearm use during drug-related activities and felon gun possession.
A notable component of these charges is a shooting incident in Leicester, Vermont, on June 4, 2023. As it stands, Roy awaits his arraignment, which has not yet been scheduled. Prosecutors emphasize that the indictment charges are only allegations, and Roy is presumed innocent until proven guilty. A conviction could lead to a 35-year minimum sentence, a life sentence, or fines up to $8 million, subject to United States Sentencing Guidelines.
The investigation of this case involved the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Vermont State Police. Legal representation for the U.S. government comes from Assistant U.S. Attorneys Paul J. Van de Graaf and Wendy L. Fuller, while Chandler Matson, Esq., represents Roy.
