Ricardo Jordan, a 22-year-old resident of St. Tammany Parish, was sentenced on April 10, 2025, for violations of the Federal Controlled Substances Act. Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson made the announcement regarding Jordan's sentencing by United States District Judge Carl J. Barbier.
Court documents reveal that Jordan sold over forty grams of fentanyl to an undercover Louisiana State Police Trooper on August 3, August 10, and September 19, 2023. A subsequent search of his Covington residence on September 28, 2023, led to the discovery of approximately 101 grams of fentanyl.
Jordan faced indictment on four counts related to drug trafficking and possession, to which he pled guilty. Consequently, Judge Barbier sentenced him to 60 months in prison followed by a four-year term of supervised release. Additionally, Jordan is required to pay a mandatory special assessment fee of $400.
The case was jointly investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Louisiana State Police. Assistant United States Attorney Briana Williams of the Narcotics Unit is handling the prosecution.
