Monrovia man gets 30-year sentence for child pornography offenses

E. Martin Estrada, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California

A man from San Gabriel Valley received a 360-month federal prison sentence for producing and distributing child sexual abuse material. David Lisandro Perez Figueroa, aged 23 and residing in Monrovia, was sentenced by United States District Judge John F. Walter. The judge also ordered Perez Figueroa to pay $2,799 in restitution and imposed lifetime supervised release.

Perez Figueroa admitted to one count of production and one count of distribution of child pornography in November 2024. He recorded himself sexually abusing a 2-year-old child to produce visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct from an unspecified date until December 2023.

In July 2023, Perez Figueroa shared the material via a social media platform, X, previously known as Twitter. British law enforcement authorities, during an investigation in the United Kingdom, found chat logs containing the material. They alerted federal law enforcement in the United States, as per court documents. This led to federal agents executing a search warrant at Perez Figueroa's home on December 5, 2023, resulting in his arrest.

The investigation was led by Homeland Security Investigations. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Jenna W. Long, Mirelle N. Raza, Amy E. Pomerantz, and Sarah E. Spielberger.
