On April 14, 2025, Richard G. Frohling, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, announced the sentencing of Roberto De La Rosa in a case involving child pornography distribution. De La Rosa, 45, from Neenah, Wisconsin, received a sentence of 60 months in federal prison.
Court records indicated that De La Rosa was involved in the possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in October 2024. The investigation showed he accessed, viewed, collected, and distributed CSAM numerous times.
Senior District Judge William C. Griesbach presided over the sentencing, highlighting the severity of the offense, the necessity of public protection, and the need for a just punishment. Upon completion of his prison sentence, De La Rosa will serve seven years of supervised release and must register as a sexual offender.
The Winnebago County Sheriffs’ Office conducted the investigation, and Assistant United States Attorney Daniel R. Humble prosecuted the case.
The case was part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative by the U.S. Department of Justice launched in May 2006. It aims to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating efforts at federal, state, and local levels to apprehend offenders and rescue victims.
