A man and woman from Meridian have admitted to conspiracy charges related to the distribution of cocaine. Court records reveal that Keamber McCoy, aged 27, and Afrika Roshawn Seals, aged 42, were involved in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine from October 2022 to August 2023. The case involved five controlled cocaine purchases, with Seals arranging and negotiating all the dealings. McCoy delivered the drugs in three transactions, while Seals managed the remaining two.
In a search of Seals' residence in September 2023, authorities confiscated three kilograms of cocaine and $84,411 in cash. McCoy entered a guilty plea on April 7, 2025, and her sentencing is set for July 17, 2025. She could face up to 20 years in prison. Seals pleaded guilty on April 14, 2025, and faces a possible sentence between 5 and 40 years, with sentencing also scheduled for July 17, 2025.
The sentences will be decided by a federal district court judge, taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines along with statutory factors. The case announcement was made by Acting U.S. Attorney Patrick A. Lemon of the Southern District of Mississippi, along with Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Steven Maxwell and Drug Enforcement Administration Assistant Special Agent in Charge Anessa Daniels-McCaw.
The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Drug Enforcement Administration are leading the investigation, while Assistant U.S. Attorneys Bert Carraway, Adam Stuart, and Amber Jones are handling the prosecution.
