A man from San Gabriel Valley received a 30-year federal prison sentence for producing and distributing child sexual abuse material. David Lisandro Perez Figueroa, age 23, admitted guilt to the charges in November 2024 and has been sentenced in the Central District of California. The court also ordered him to pay $2,799 in restitution and placed him on lifetime supervised release.

Perez Figueroa confessed to recording his abuse of a 2-year-old child to create explicit content. He distributed this material via the social media platform X, previously known as Twitter, in July 2023.

A British law enforcement investigation of a separate target led to the discovery of chat logs containing the explicit material. British authorities collaborated with ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) in London to share the findings with ICE HSI in Los Angeles. This collaboration resulted in a search warrant executed at Perez Figueroa’s residence on December 5, 2023, leading to his arrest and the rescue of the child victim.

"This lengthy sentence enables the victim and their family to continue toward recovery while bringing to justice the man responsible for that victimization," commented Dwayne Angebrandt, the acting Deputy Special Agent in Charge at ICE HSI Los Angeles.

ICE HSI plays a significant role globally in combatting child exploitation, focusing on safeguarding children from predators involved in such activities. The agency urges anyone with information on suspected child exploitation to contact their Tip Line or the CyberTipline on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children's website.
