MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma reported that John Paul Cruz Rosado, aged 45, from Muskogee, Oklahoma, received a concurrent sentence of 135 months in prison for each of two offenses: Distribution of Cocaine and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. The sentence was handed down on April 10, 2025.
These charges originated from a probe conducted by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs, with support from the Zanesville, Ohio Police Department.
Cruz Rosado, the former Director/Event Manager of the Muskogee Civic Center, admitted guilt on July 24, 2024, to distributing and intending to distribute cocaine. Investigators revealed that on November 29, 2023, Cruz Rosado distributed about ten ounces of cocaine. Subsequently, on December 6, 2023, during a search of his Muskogee residence, authorities confiscated more than nine pounds of cocaine, in addition to scales, baggies, cash, firearms, and other evidence related to drug trafficking.
“OBN is grateful to our partners with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for helping secure a significant sentence in this case,” stated OBN Director Donnie Anderson. “Cocaine distribution is on the rise across Oklahoma, leading to increased overdoses and deaths in recent years. My agency is committed to stopping those who are profiting while putting Oklahoma lives at risk.”
“I commend the work of the Oklahoma State Bureau of Narcotics in dismantling Cruz Rosado’s cocaine distribution operations, and taking a drug dealer off the streets,” said United States Attorney Christopher J. Wilson.
The hearing was presided over by the Honorable John F. Heil, III, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Cruz Rosado will remain under the U.S. Marshals Service's custody until he is transported to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve a non-paroleable sentence.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Erin Cornell represented the prosecution.
