The incident involves Simms pleading guilty to aiding and abetting a false statement during the purchase of a firearm. Court documents indicate that Simms collaborated with other defendants to acquire firearms in Martinsburg, West Virginia, which were then intended for distribution to individuals outside the state.
Simms may face a maximum sentence of 10 years in federal prison. The final decision regarding his sentence will be made by a federal district court judge, who will take into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other legal factors.
