Ricardo Lane, a 43-year-old resident of Syracuse, has been sentenced to 100 months in federal prison for his role in a drug conspiracy, as announced by United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III, along with Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA New York Division, and Erin Keegan, Special Agent in Charge of HSI's Buffalo Field Office.
Lane, who had previously pleaded guilty, was involved in a conspiracy to distribute cocaine in Onondaga County from April 2021 to July 2022. He has a prior conviction for a similar offense dating back to 2007.
The sentence, handed down by Senior United States District Judge Glenn T. Suddaby, includes a five-year term of supervised release after Lane's prison term.
The investigation was carried out by the DEA, IRS-CI, HSI, United States Postal Inspection Service, and the Syracuse Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Geoffrey Brown and Michael Gadarian led the prosecution.
The case is part of an effort under the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) program, which aims to dismantle high-level drug trafficking and criminal networks in the United States. More details about the OCDETF program are available at its official site.
