A man from Houston, Texas, has admitted guilt in connection to a jugging robbery involving an ATM technician on July 3, 2024. Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Chad E. Meacham, made the announcement. Jugging robberies entail following victims as they handle cash at ATMs or banks, then robbing them.
In December 2024, Johnny Juwan Clark, along with fellow Houston residents Corey Dashun Holloway, Tierra Toneisha Brandyberg, and Roosevelt Ford Valentine, was indicted for their involvement in the theft in Midlothian, Texas. On April 22, 2025, Clark confessed to committing interference with commerce by robbery before Senior United States District Judge Barbara M.G. Lynn.
The group connected to the crime is part of the “Hiram Clarke Money Team,” a Houston-based organization known for engaging in similar robberies and thefts. Clark acknowledged approaching the ATM technician in disguise at Chase Bank in Midlothian, Texas, in the early evening of July 3, 2024. He forced the technician to the ground while associates stole approximately $247,000 from the ATM. A security photo confirmed Clark's involvement.
Following the robbery, Clark and two accomplices fled the scene in a rental car, later meeting a fourth individual at a nearby apartment. The stolen money was then transferred to a Range Rover and transported back to Houston.
Sentencing for Clark is slated for July 28, 2025, with potential penalties including up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Codefendant Tierra Toneisha Brandyberg plans to plead guilty, but her rearraignment has not been scheduled. The remaining defendants, Holloway and Valentine, are awaiting a jury trial in September 2025.
The FBI's Dallas Division led the investigation, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Calvert is handling the prosecution.
