Marc H. Silverman, Acting United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, conveyed that Christopher Adams, 58, from Norwalk, has been sentenced to 22 months in federal prison. This followed a hearing in Hartford before U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea, related to cocaine trafficking activities in southwestern Connecticut. Following his prison sentence, Adams will also undergo three years of supervised release.
Court documents, along with courtroom statements, reveal insights into the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force’s investigation. Along with the Stamford Police Department, they identified Rodney Canada, referred to as “Supreme,” at the helm of a drug trafficking network. This network distributed fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and crack cocaine in Stamford and other areas in southwestern Connecticut. The investigation utilized wiretaps and controlled narcotic purchases. It also established that Canada and his associates managed street-level drug distribution. Further, they supplied Adams with bulk quantities of cocaine for redistribution.
Adams’s arrest came on March 8, 2024, due to related state charges. It followed a search of his Norwalk hotel room, which uncovered around 80 grams of cocaine. Despite being out on bond, Adams continued trafficking narcotics.
On May 14, 2024, Canada and other conspiracy members faced federal arrests. That day’s searches across Stamford, Norwalk, Bridgeport, and Darien yielded six kilograms of cocaine, nearly 400 grams of raw fentanyl, over 500 bags of fentanyl, five firearms, a bulletproof vest, and seven vehicles.
Adams was federally arrested on May 18, 2024. Later, on December 10, 2024, he pled guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute and intent to distribute cocaine. Since his arrest, he has remained in custody. Meanwhile, Canada awaits sentencing after pleading guilty.
The Drug Enforcement Administration’s Bridgeport HIDTA Task Force, Stamford Police Department, Bridgeport Police Department, and U.S. Marshals Service led the investigation with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Connecticut State Police, and the Norwalk, Danbury, and Darien Police Departments participating. Personnel from various agencies comprise the DEA HIDTA Task Force, including those from the DEA Bridgeport Resident Office, and multiple police departments in Connecticut towns.
The case prosecution is under Assistant U.S. Attorneys Patricia Stolfi Collins and Geoffrey M. Stone, as part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) Program. OCDETF aims to identify, disrupt, and dismantle drug-trafficking networks, gangs, and transnational criminal entities through a collaborative approach that unites federal, state, and local enforcement agencies.
