Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced that Juan K. Simpson, a 30-year-old resident of New Orleans, has pled guilty to bank robbery. Simpson was charged on April 8, 2025, under Title 18, United States Code, Section 2113(a). His sentencing is scheduled for July 8, 2025, before U.S. District Judge Darrel James Papillion.
Simpson faces a possible sentence of up to 20 years in prison, a fine that could reach $250,000, up to three years of supervised release following imprisonment, and a mandatory special assessment fee of $100.
According to court documents, Simpson committed the robbery at a Capital One Bank in New Orleans on November 25, 2024.
The case is being handled by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Assistant United States Attorney Mary Katherine Kaufman of the General Crimes Unit is leading the prosecution.
