U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Pharr International Bridge cargo facility have seized cocaine valued at over $1 million. The incident involved a commercial vehicle intercepted on April 25, originating from Mexico.

Port Director Carlos Rodriguez of the Hidalgo/Pharr/Anzalduas Port of Entry stated, "Our CBP officers use all available tools and resources to find and identify narcotics at our international crossings."

CBP officers referred the commercial tractor trailer for a detailed inspection. The thorough search employed nonintrusive inspection equipment and a canine team, leading to the discovery of 76.19 pounds (34.56 kg) of alleged cocaine concealed within the vehicle. This cocaine was contained in 30 separate packages.

Following the seizure, the CBP Office of Field Operations (OFO) took control of the narcotics and the vehicle. Homeland Security Investigations has begun a criminal investigation related to the seizure.

The CBP describes itself as "America's frontline," emphasizing its role in protecting the country's borders across various terrains and in various modes of transportation. The organization facilitates lawful travel and trade, thereby supporting the nation's economic well-being.

CBP's Laredo Field Office and other regional CBP accounts provide updates and information on social media platforms, including X and Instagram, sharing news, events, and stories relevant to border security and law enforcement.
