A San Bernardino County man has admitted to possessing thousands of images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Donal James Seaver, 51, from Hesperia, pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of possession of child pornography.
Seaver, a former school bus driver, has been held in federal custody since March 2024. A search warrant executed at his residence during that time led to the seizure of four digital devices. Three of the devices contained CSAM, including a Samsung tablet with thousands of images depicting such material.
According to the plea agreement, Seaver acknowledged being aware that the files contained explicit videos and images of minors. He further admitted to downloading CSAM from the internet, including material involving children under 12 years of age.
“United States District Judge Jesus G. Bernal scheduled an August 25 sentencing hearing, at which time Seaver will face a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison.”
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorney Sonah Lee of the Riverside Branch Office is in charge of prosecuting the case.
