On April 29, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama, United States District Court Judge William H. Steele sentenced Isaiah Lorenzo Bess, aged 28, to 33 months in prison. Bess was convicted for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Court documents indicate that Bess, starting from around July 2023 and continuing through December 8, 2023, was involved in a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl pills across the Mobile area.
Bess was formally charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl and pled guilty to this charge. Following his imprisonment, he will be subject to a 5-year term of supervised release.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Mobile County Sheriff's Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica S. Terrill prosecuted the case.
