Jessica Snyder, a 46-year-old resident of Canastota, New York, received a sentence of five years in federal prison following her involvement in a drug conspiracy and firearms offense. The announcement was made by United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III, accompanied by Bryan Miller from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, and Madison County Sheriff Todd Hood.
Snyder confessed to conspiring with her husband, Andrew Snyder, from October 2020 to May 17, 2022, to distribute methamphetamine and a heroin/fentanyl mixture from their home's garage in Madison County. Additionally, she admitted to possessing two 9mm handguns and ammunition as an unlawful user of controlled substances, including methamphetamine, on May 17, 2022.
Following her release from prison, Chief United States District Judge Brenda K. Sannes has mandated that Snyder also serve a four-year term of supervised release. Furthermore, the judge ordered the forfeiture of the firearms and ammunition in her possession.
Andrew Snyder, who was involved in the same conspiracy, was sentenced to 60 months in prison earlier this month.
The investigation was carried out by the ATF and the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, with help from the Drug Enforcement Administration and New York State Police. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Thomas R. Sutcliffe and Matthew J. McCrobie.
