Orleans Parish man sentenced for drug trafficking and firearm offense

Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson announced on May 1, 2025, the sentencing of 49-year-old Devin Hilliard of New Orleans. Hilliard was sentenced on April 24, 2025, by U.S. District Judge Eldon E. Fallon for drug trafficking and carrying a firearm during the offense.

Court documents revealed that Hilliard was involved in drug trafficking activities in New Orleans and was apprehended while carrying a firearm during the crime. He received a sentence of 66 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, along with a mandatory special assessment fee of three hundred dollars.

Simpson commended the efforts of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in the investigation of the case. The prosecution was overseen by Assistant United States Attorney Richard R. Pickens, II from the Financial Crimes Unit.
