Keevon Carter-Hickmon, a 30-year-old resident of Mansfield, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for the production of child pornography. This was announced by Acting United States Attorney for the Northern District of Texas, Chad E. Meacham.
Carter-Hickmon was indicted and pleaded guilty to the charge in January 2025. U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor handed down the 360-month sentence on May 2, 2025.
According to the defendant's signed factual resume, Carter-Hickmon engaged with a minor online for several months before picking the minor up from a local middle school. They went to a motel in Arlington where sexual contact occurred. He recorded and distributed pornographic images of the minor over the internet. While awaiting trial for state charges, Carter-Hickmon contacted another minor online and received more child pornography.
Acting United States Attorney Meacham expressed appreciation for the efforts of the involved agencies, including the Arlington Police Department, Stephenville Police Department, Mansfield Police Department, United States Secret Service, and Homeland Security Investigations, which all contributed to bringing justice for the victims. Assistant United States Attorney Allyson Monte prosecuted the case.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, which the Department of Justice launched in May 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The initiative involves U.S. Attorney's Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, focusing on locating, apprehending, and prosecuting child sexual exploitation offenders, as well as identifying and rescuing victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood and internet safety education is available on the Department of Justice's website.
