A woman from Calloway County, Kentucky, has been sentenced to federal prison for wire fraud. Amanda S. Robertson, aged 34, will serve 2 years and 1 month in prison followed by 2 years of supervised release. She was found guilty of six counts of wire fraud.
U.S. Attorney Michael A. Bennett from the Western District of Kentucky and Acting Special Agent in Charge Olivia Olson of the FBI's Louisville Field Office announced the sentencing. Court documents reveal that between May 2020 and May 2023, Robertson worked as a bookkeeper for a construction company in western Kentucky, during which she embezzled over $1 million from her employer. The stolen funds were used to support her own businesses and cover personal expenses.
In addition to her prison sentence, Robertson has been ordered to pay $1,470,000 in restitution. It is important to note that there is no parole available in the federal system.
The investigation was conducted by the FBI Hopkinsville Satellite Office alongside the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant U.S. Attorney Raymond McGee from the U.S. Attorney’s Paducah Branch Office prosecuted the case.
