A federal grand jury in Kansas City, Kansas, has indicted five former U.S. Postal Service employees on charges of mail theft. The individuals are accused of stealing mail and packages for personal use.

The indictment lists Terrence Luster, 49, from Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Laura Dantzler, 64, from Kansas City, Kansas; Arthur Hook, 49, from Lathrop, Missouri; Craig Roland, 54, from Kansas City, Kansas; and Cheryl Wankum, 60, from Overland Park, Kansas. Each faces one count of conspiracy to steal mail and one count of theft of mail.

According to court documents, the alleged thefts occurred at a post office on North 51st Street between early 2023 and mid-October 2023. The items reportedly stolen included Amazon return packages and other valuable mail.

The investigation is being conducted by the U.S. Postal Service – Office of Inspector General (USPS-OIG). Assistant U.S. Attorney Jabari Wamble is handling the prosecution.

It is important to note that an indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
