A Lame Deer man, Adriano Sparkxxx LeBeaux, was sentenced to 188 months in prison for the rape of a woman on the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. The sentence will be followed by 15 years of supervised release, as announced by U.S. Attorney Kurt Alme.

LeBeaux, aged 21, was found guilty of aggravated sexual abuse in October 2024. The trial was presided over by U.S. District Judge Susan Watters.

The incident occurred on March 8, 2023. According to court documents and trial evidence, the victim, referred to as Jane Doe, met LeBeaux at a residence in Lame Deer. LeBeaux informed Doe that police were en route to search the house and suggested they hide in the basement. Jane Doe agreed due to her fear of arrest for drinking on the dry reservation.

While in the basement, LeBeaux instructed Jane Doe to lie down and she eventually fell asleep or passed out. She later awoke with LeBeaux holding a knife to her throat before he raped her. After leaving the residence, Jane Doe sought medical attention at an Indian Health Service Clinic where a sexual assault exam confirmed LeBeaux's DNA.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Lori Suek and Paul Vestal and investigated by the FBI, BIA, and Northern Cheyenne Investigative Services.

This prosecution is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime through collaboration between law enforcement agencies and communities. The Department launched an enhanced violent crime reduction strategy for PSN on May 26, 2021.
