Jesus Alejandro Bojorquez-Moreno, a 37-year-old Mexican national, was sentenced to 120 months in prison by United States District Court Judge Angela M. Martinez on May 6, 2025. Bojorquez-Moreno had previously pleaded guilty to charges of Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin and Fentanyl, Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl, and Reentry of a Removed Alien.

Between June and September of 2022, Bojorquez-Moreno coordinated five separate transactions involving large quantities of heroin and fentanyl with undercover federal agents. He managed the negotiations regarding the drugs' amounts and prices and instructed other members of the conspiracy to deliver the substances to locations in Tucson, Arizona, and Indianapolis, Indiana. The agents intercepted a total of 10 kilograms of heroin and 100,000 fentanyl pills before losing contact with Bojorquez-Moreno.

Bojorquez-Moreno was apprehended by United States Border Patrol agents on June 3, 2023, near Douglas, Arizona, for illegally reentering the country after being deported in 2019 without obtaining legal permission to return.

The case is part of an operation led by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), which focuses on identifying and dismantling high-level criminal organizations posing threats to the United States through a collaborative multi-agency approach. More details about OCDETF can be found at https://www.justice.gov/OCDETF.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration and United States Border Patrol. The prosecution was handled by the United States Attorney’s Office in Tucson within the District of Arizona.
