A Mexican national has been sentenced for illegally re-entering the United States after previously being removed. Angel Flores-Quiahua, 35, was found to have reentered the country without authorization following his prior deportations.
Court documents reveal that on February 25, 2025, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) conducted labor site inspections in Foley, Alabama. During these inspections at the Hadley Village subdivision, approximately 11 individuals attempted to evade HSI Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) agents by fleeing through various terrains. Agents pursued them into wooded areas near the subdivision and discovered Flores-Quiahua hiding inside a drainage ditch piping system entrance.
Subsequent checks confirmed Flores-Quiahua's status as a Mexican citizen who had been previously removed from the United States twice. Records show he was deported via Chicago, Illinois on July 12, 2013. On July 11, 2016, he was again identified as unlawfully present in the U.S., leading to a reinstatement of his removal order and subsequent deportation through Nogales, Arizona on July 12, 2016.
Flores-Quiahua received a sentence equivalent to time served since his arrest in February this year. Following sentencing by a District Court Judge, he was ordered to be handed over to immigration officials for potential deportation proceedings.
The announcement came from U.S. Attorney Sean Costello of the Southern District of Alabama. The Department of Homeland Security led the investigation into this case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Tandice Blackwood is handling prosecution duties for the United States.
